Soooo...I started my first week at the State of Alaska last week. My first day was Tuesday and since then my life has been a bit of a blur. I did a ton of paperwork, met a lot of really nice people, and read a lot of manuals and procedures. (I’ve also been to a lot of meetings.) So the job itself has been a lot to take in, and I haven’t even really started my training yet! Or my actual job!! It’s crazy.
I’m also doing work after my full-time job, as I still have my freelance editing and NYC Midnight judging. I get off work at 4, get back to the house around 5-ish (because of traffic), and start my after work work. I usually take a quick break to scarf down some dinner, and I’m done with the editing/judging by 8:30 or 9pm. After that, I usually settle down on the couch, watch some TV/relax, do my usual nighttime routine, and am in bed by 11pm. I get up at 6:15am to start it all over again.
It’s been…tiring. But good overall, I think. I’ll have to figure out how to balance my time a bit better after I’m completely done working, so I can actually do some fantasy writing, but I’m also so tired after that I might not have the brainpower! Maybe I can just brainstorm over the week and then write during the weekend? I’ll figure it out. Anyway, first week DONE! Now…onto the next.
Warm regards,
Kellie
